OUR BEGINNING
Norrentia’s story began in 2011 in the Netherlands, from a modest office and a straightforward belief: international recruitment should create lasting value for both employers and the people they hire.

What started as a small team focused on building trusted relationships gradually developed into a broader cross-border recruitment operation. From the beginning, our approach centred on understanding employers’ workforce needs, carefully evaluating candidates and supporting people through the complexities of working in a new country.

Marieke van Dijk
Founder & Managing Director
With a background in Human Resource Management and more than a decade of experience in recruitment and workforce solutions before establishing Norrentia in 2011, Marieke van Dijk built her career around one central belief: successful recruitment begins with understanding people just as deeply as business needs.
Her early career across HR, recruitment and international workforce management gave her first-hand insight into the growing challenges European employers faced in finding dependable skilled talent. That experience became the foundation for Norrentia—starting from a modest office in the Netherlands and developing into an international recruitment organisation built around long-term employer relationships, responsible recruitment and meaningful opportunities for professionals across borders.
Today, Marieke remains closely involved in Norrentia’s strategic direction, with particular interests in international workforce mobility, organisational development and responsible recruitment. Her approach combines the personal values on which the company was founded with a progressive outlook on technology, new talent markets and changing workforce needs.
Looking ahead, her focus is on Norrentia’s continued expansion across Europe—entering new markets, strengthening international talent corridors and building partnerships that create sustainable value for employers and professionals alike.
